Question About Social Security

Fellow blogger’s I have a question for you. Are any of you retired on disability? If so do you know if you were to marry after you retired, would your spouse be able to collect Social Security benefits too? I see on my Social Security Statement I receive every year that if I was getting disability benefits my spouse and children would also collect Social Security also. What I don’t know is would my spouse still get it if we wasn't marry at the time I retired?

Who Needs the Lates Gadgets

Do you think I need a new digital camera? My son in law laughed at my camera when I was in Indiana visited him and my daughter. It was a gift from my son and daughter one Christmas. I think it’s just finding it still works; it’s the one I’ve used to take all the photos on this blog. Maybe I could use another micro sd, then I wouldn’t have to keep deleting photos before there time. My son in law likes to get every new gadget as soon as it comes out.

Trip To Indiana

My son and I finally took a trip to visit my daughter and her husband. This is the first time I’ve visited; seeing I’m laid off I have the time to visit. My son is laid off too so it was a good time for him to go too. My daughter and her husband had two weeks off too. The GM plant they work at was closed for two week because there are to many trucks in stock.

We had a nice visit; they showed us around the town and all the hot spots in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This was the first time I got to see the condo they bought. My daughter thinks it’s to small but I think I could be quite cozy.

This is the bedroom with attach bathroom, my son in law want to replace this bed with a sleep number bed. My daughter said he has to wait till she gets their taxes done.

Another Bad Day

Could someone please help me get out of this slump I’m in. It seems that since I’ve been laid off I just can’t get in to a good mood. I can’t stop thinking what’s going to happen if I can’t find a job, will I lose my house? I’m just so scared, my mother said I could move in with her but I wouldn’t be able to sell my house so what good would moving in with my mother do. I’m really sorry to lay this on all my friends in the blogging world. I know there are a lot of you in the same sinking boat with me. If you can tell me how to get out of the bad mood please do. If I didn’t have my boys Smokey and Tiger to hug and love I don’t know what I’ll do.

New Laptop

My daughter took a class to learn more about the insides of a computer and how to take care of it. They learned how to upgrade a computer, add memory and much more. This class was paid for by her employer (GM). It’s one perk GM hasn’t taken away yet so why not take advantage of it as long as she can. After completing the class her teacher had a deal for his students. They could choose from two different laptops. The one my daughter wanted had all she wanted but she may have to buy more laptop memory in the future.

Earlier This Week

I’ve been a little down, whom I kidding I’ve been really down. This being laid off is really getting to me. I can’t imagine what my co-workers that got laid off in September feel. I don’t know long I’m going to be able to do this. My boys (Smokey and Tiger) really love having me home. Monday and Tuesday was really warm in the 60’s so I decided to start cleaning the front yard. I had a little help from my boys. I think they wanted to come out to play but I’m afraid they would run away seeing the last time they were out side is when they were wild babies.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Smokey and Tiger wants to wish everyone a Safe and Happy St. Patrick's Day. Have fun but if you’re going to drink green beer please don't drink and drive. Smokey and Tiger are celebrating by eating green grass. We wouldn't want to lose any of our blogger friends. Stay safe.

Childhood Dream

One of my childhood dreams was to have my very own horse. I did take riding lessons when I was young with a girlfriend. We both loved learning to ride and jump the horses. Now that I’m grown I still love horse, but never have owned one. I have wanted to visit out west, maybe going to one of those ranches where you can work as a ranch hand. Maybe my next vacation I just do that, I’ll travel to Dallas and find a Dallas Texas hotels and then find a working ranch to vacation at.

New Fence

I’ve lived in my house for over 30 years. My son was only 2 at the time. One of the things I loved about the house was the big back yard. And the fact that the back yard was fenced in was another plus. Over the years the fence is looking old and rusted. Maybe I need to have an aluminum fence installation to replace the old fence.

Pasting Time

I’ve been laid off for 5 weeks now and I’m trying to find thing to keep me busy. One of the things I’ve been doing is crocheting. When I was expecting my son, my mother taught me how to crochet. I’ve been doing it in my spare time since. One of the things I make is this baby sweater set. It takes a few weeks to make. I have a lot of people asking me to make the booties.

New Tree For Backyard

Last year my son had to cut down what was left of the cherry tree that was in my back yard. After over the last 30 years parts of the tree have die and during one summer storm one side of the tree fell down. The tree split down the middle, I couldn’t believe it when I looked out the kitchen window and saw the tree.

Wildlife trees are one kind of trees I’m thing about replacing the cherry tree with. I’m thinking maybe a kind of nut tree. Now I just have to decide on what kind of nut tree to get. When I was young we had a hickey nut tree. I remember sitting in the back yard for hours eating the nuts.

Back After 4 Days

After 4 days on no phone or inter net we’re finally back. I have been trying for the last 4 days to get our phone and inter net fixed.

It rained on Thursday and it seems whenever it rains we lose our phone and inter net. I was having a hard time getting the tech to come and fix it. Finally today a tech came and tried to fix it. He had to call a line tech to come and fix the lines outside. After a few hours of doing want ever they had to do I had our phone and inter net back. The techs told me I wouldn’t have any more trouble. Ha Ha I heard that before.

Now that our phone is fixed I have to find someone to install our new Kohler sink.
