Bad Start Of The Week

Monday starts off with a trip to the doctors for my mother for her monthly check up. Her doctor told me she's very depressed. She's been that way since 2005, I don't know what he wants me to do about it. I try to get her out of the house as much as I can. But since 2005 after having lung cancer and then a stroke she just don't want to do much.

After taking mom to the doctor I went over to my daughter house to cut the grass. I've been taking care of her house since she moved to Indiana. The rest of the day I spent doing my wash and cleaning the house. Tuesday I was going to cut my grass but I have a bee problem.

So I decided to do the hedge, after I did the hedge I went to Meijer to get some hornet spray. After it got dark I went out to spray the on nest I could reach.

The other one will have to way till I can get a taller ladder.

The spray worked so today I was able to cut the grass without getting stung. With the front done I went to do the back yard little did I know the yellow jacks had made a nest in the ground so when I was cutting the back yard I went over the nest and got stung on the back of my leg. I just can't win.

I really need a vacation and I think smokey wants to go with me. I going to check out Vegas vacations. But I don't think I'm going to get out of the house with out smokey.

Hey Mommy don't even think your going with out me!!!!

OMG those hornet nests are huge! Please be careful until those nests are taken care of and removed.
I'm with you on the Vegas trip - sounds wonderful, not relaxing but definitely fun!

Yikes! I don't think a little can of hornet spray is gonna work on those bad boys! Can you call a wildlife "remover" guy? There are beekeepers that do that sort of stuff so you don't get hurt. Call your town hall and see if they can get someone to help--it's more of a safety issue on your street than just a "bee" problem.

Looks like Smokey doesn't want you to go. :(

Wow those are some nests, I don't think I've ever seen any that big. It does look like Smokey intends to go with you wherever you go...lol

It sounds like you got a lot done. I do think you should plan a vacation - Smokey will understand :)

Wow the hornet nests are huge! and i know way to well how very mean and ferocious ground hornets can be.

When we first moved here our front yard was covered with little holes all over the place.

Luckily I never got stung. but, I must say it was completely out of ignorance and pure luck that I didn't.

I was raised in the city and had no clue just how aggressive and deadly hornets, especially ground hornets, can be.

They are not friendly creatures at all.

So sorry to hear about your mom. That is a long time to be dealing with depression.

But, I like you, have to agree, with her health how can she not be depressed?

I hope the DR. also put her on something to try to ease the depression.

I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers on this one.

I am bi-polar and I went for years without a good DR. and treatment for the condition. The depressive episodes were really dark, sad and lonely times.

Nobody was able to make me snap out of the depression. For me, I did finally have to resort to a specialist and get on medication.

Thank goodness I did because it has been almost a decade now and I rarely have depressive episodes at all.

Wishing you the best and once again...please becareful around those hornets!!

Is that a bee or a hornet nest? so big. In my country usually only hornets make nest on trees and close to human residential.
