My Boys
My two boys have to explore everything, I can't open a closet, cabinet or pretty much anything with out them wanting to get in and look around. Here's Smokey, after he finished checking everything out his brother Tiger took a turn but I didn't get a photo of him sorry.

At least your boys wait until you open the cabinets to explore. I have a cat that will open the cabinets on his own and sleep in them. His favorite place to sleep is in the drawer between the sink and the stove where I keep my linens - dishcloths, terry towels, etc. I usually have to take the top layer off and wash them - otherwise we'd be on hairball meds for us!
Your little boy there reminds me so much of my little belated "Shady Lady". She was the kindest little Stray Cat adopted you would ever want and so full of mischief.

We just adopted an abused kitty and she likes to hide in the closet.
Uh, let's see....Hot chocolate, crackers, Cherios, electric knife, cat, oatmeal, napkins.......
